No real difference real world, doubt you'd notice the slight loss in grip really. The slight stretch might make them stiffer than a 255 would be so maybe a slight loss in ride comfort but it would be miniscule.

I cant even find any photos of a 225/45/17 on an 8.5, so it's not considered a stretch worth even photographing, so it will be slight, if at all.

Thanks for that! So wouldn't essentially make a massive difference under normal situations, thats cleared that up for me
