Unfortunately, the "knock status" parameter isn't a very usefull determinator of actual knock activity. It often doesn't register obvious knock while often picking up other noise. And I've seen the DME ignore it which suggests that it is what we all thought it was. Fortunately, there are better alternatives available to us.
