Dam, this is the hard way to do it....
All you really need is to use one ball bearing that is 15%-30% larger than the inside diameter of the hose.
1. Place the ball bearing in the hose and push it in with a small Phillips screw driver an inch or two.
2. Place the hose back on the tube stub of the actuator and all is stock and complete reversible with no damage.
The bearing will seal well as it will be close to the shape of a Type 2 - SAE bead.
The golf tee may work but the diameter of the tee must be at least 15% larger than the inside diameter of the hose or it will leak for sure even with all the tape junk and wedging.
