Sirius and XM just got the OK to merge this summer after 2-3 years.

That means you might need a new radio to receive programming from both systems.
So you should wait to install any satellite radio in the US. Or they might provide programming from both services for existing customers (so their hardware is not obsolete).

Price of the satellite services will be frozen for a few years.

So the delay will work in your favor.

No one knows if new hardware/radios will be required yet.
