I just purchased a CPO '08 335xi coupe with 50k miles and plan on keeping it for the next 5-6 years as well. These cars are great and despite some of their problems, they will last a lifetime if maintained/driven properly. I say go for it. I went from a 2010 Audi A4 to this car and I'll never look back. The styling, handling and sheer power that these cars have is truly unmatched. Best of luck with whatever you end up getting, drive it in good health.
