Anyone getting their BMWCCA Comp License?
I received an email from them asking for instructors and if there are any students interested in signing up.
I'm not racing, so I'm going to instruct.

Here is the email:
Hi, All!!!
The next BimmerWorld BMW CCA Club Racing school is coming up fast at NJMP on June 2,3! We can use both more students, and more instructor's.

If you know anyone who needs to complete the race school in order to get their license, or any instructor or solo DE student who want to improve their skills, please let them know about the school!

We also need seasoned racers who are not racing at the event to come and help out with the school. This is a great opportunity to 'give-back' for all of the fun you've had over the years. Please consider coming to help out! We need you for both classroom and on-track sessions in your car.

Thanks,
Ron Checca

Looks like it's $435 for two days and they're only open to advanced students. That being said, it looks like the school is a full-blown race school so plenty of side-by-side race type situations. Also, this would be a fantastic way to possibly get your competition license. Most schools require a full-blow race prepped car in order to attend a school. With this schoo, you can use your DE car if you'd like and you don't need a fire suit, HANS, shoes and gloves or belts.

Here's the description of the race school:

Race or School: This is a BMW CCA Club Race School.

Event Type: Club Racing School

Event Location: BimmerWorld BMW CCA Club Racing School at NJMP

Event Start Date: Jun 02, 2014
Event End Date: Jun 03, 2014
Registration Opens Date: Feb 17, 2014
Registration Closes Date: May 26, 2014

Event Info:
The BimmerWorld BMW CCA Club Racing School focuses on situations inherent to racing and open track lapping as the majority of the on track sessions will be held with other cars next to, in front of, and behind you at all times. This introduces the students to traffic, passing, and driving lines that they won’t get in the typical high performance driving school. Exercises include driving the entire track for multiple laps both two and three abreast to develop spatial awareness, setting up passes coming into corners at speed and passing while exiting corners which develop off line competency and confidence, as well as practice race starts and open track sessions which combines all aspects of the learned material.
The method of track instruction is unique to the BimmerWorld BMW CCA Club Race School in that instructors do not ride along with the students during the on track sessions. The instructors, who are primarily composed of seasoned racers, observe the students while driving their own cars. This allows the instructor to develop a greater sense of how a student is improving with respect to spatial and situation awareness, different lines, and traffic. The on track sessions are supported by 4+ hours of classroom time per day. While the classroom sessions will support the on track experiences, topics such a car preparation, mental preparation, physical preparation, qualifying, the benefits of practice sessions, car setup, etc. are also presented to the students for discussion. The school is designed as a learning experience and not a speed contest. The emphasis is on driver development, so race prepared cars are not required and neither are driving suits, racing seats or harnesses. The BimmerWorld BMW CCA Club Racing School is open to Advanced Driver School students and Instructors only. CLUB RACING SCHOOL PARTICIPANTS MUST REGISTER FOR THE EVENT ON THE BMW CCA CLUB RACING WEBSITE AND THEN COMPLETE REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT ON MOTORSPORTREG.COM

Graduation from the BimmerWorld BMW CCA Club Racing School does not automatically qualify you for a BMW CCA Club Racing license, but if you meet the experience and other requirements you will be eligible for a rookie license and the opportunity to join the ranks of BMW CCA Club Racing. Please note that acceptance to the club race school is at the discretion of the event chair and Club Race School chief instructor and is not guaranteed.
