Get some heat shrink, solder the wires together if they are crushed to the point where you see the wires cores through the insulation.

I know what you mean about wanting it right. But if you do the job properly it'll end up being the stronger part of the loom. Wrap it up and you'll forget about it after a few days. It ain't worth spending £££ on getting a replacement loom. Wire is wire, if it's connected, it works
