I could be wrong, but I'm thinking it's not related to registration.

It's best to get the battery registered. If the replacement Ah is very different from the orig Ah, you may also need to have the battery programmed.

If the Ah is the same, you can get by with just the registration. There is at least one free software out there that does registration, in case you can't find a reasonable price from a shop -http://**************.com/products
you would need to buy a compatible cable to get this to work, they have links to such on Amazon for a pretty reasonable price. It also reads DME codes, which is what I've used it for.

In any event, glad you got the cluster back to normal.
