I thought its normal for the CBS system to request an inspection after 12 months.
In my case, I'm changing the oil every 12 months so I'd get it checked out then. I doubt they even check much at an inspection. I'm guessing they check the diagnostics port for error codes and look at the oil and coolant levels - Probably no more than that.
