Thats interesting unless you are beating it or there is a defect the clutch should just barely be broken in at 40k

Im on my second clutch in my e46 (first one was defectively replaced under warranty at 30k) and that clutch is just barely starting to slip now and it has over 153k on it.

If its slipping now take it in while you are under warranty.

As for the person who said 2500 for a new clutch that is WAY high. A good independent will install a new clutch for 500-700. If you go to circle BMW or a few others for the clutch you are talking 400-500.
