I did another test after this thread and saw that even though the heatsoak is there, the turbos will work harder to make the same amount of boost under the stock air box vs the DCI.
In summary, if you have the ECU is stock then go with the stock air box, but if you are pushing 15+ psi then it's easier on the turbos to run the DCI.

Agreed. The DCIs are sorta pointless for stock boost (other than the intoxicating noise) but those with higher boost should go with DCIs.
