Its a new Euro requirement, all the MFG's HAVE to make them big. Too big of a hassle to designate certain mirrors for Europe only, so everyone has to suffer...
The coupe supposed to be introduced/refreshed one year after the sedan, however, this is so late, something must be up. Maybe BMW is going to run the e9X series one more year longer than they had originally planned. Or maybe they've just kept the facelift coupe hidden better than the sedan.
