Yes. They have to update the entire programming in the car. As I was told, they have to go through the entire process of redoing the progman (usually to the latest version) just for the alarm feature to be checked on. Unfortunately they can't just do the alarm portion. If all goes well, it should just take 8-10 hours, which means they let you car sit overnight plugged in. But sometimes the system crashes, and they have to start over, thus...can be multiple days for it to go through and function correctly.
