Okay...an update to my update...my hubs are not rusting through the paint after all...turns out I'm just mildly retarded...
If you check out my previous post (
post #32), you'll notice what looks like corrosion, it turns out the hubs were just stained from general smutz...I wiped them down with a little degreaser and they cleaned right up. I still need a bit of a redo as my original attempt didn't cover the face of the hub or the transition area by the disk good enough. But the good news story is, despite my initial impressions, it appears the paint is holding up well! Check the pix:
