I would take iDrive over the G35's system ANY day.
I think if iDrive were just a bit faster/more responsive, a lot of us would complain less. Going through menus isn't as painful if the system actually responds instantaneously. In my opinion, it's not the lack of buttons that's frustrating - it's the fact that I sometimes have to wait 1-3 seconds after choosing an option.
