So the next step for us is to upgrade the clutch pack in our 7DCT. Then we can see how much power this engine can really make on the stock turbo. I suspect the engine will keep making power up to 10-13 deg of timing. Which means I'd expect to see another 10whp or so. So yes, I wouldn't be surprised if this engine can make 385-390whp. But until I upgrade my clutch packs, I'll need a 6MT to prove it
And for those 7DCT guys out there: Go easy on the Launch Control feature. And don't even think about using it if you are running slicks. Looks like it only needs one or two massive clutch slip events to burn the surface of the clutch packs. And when that happens, the torque holding capacity drops substantially.
