Made mine out of garage scraps; a plywood base and a small block of hard wood glued and screwed to the plywood, and then painted it yellow. Took 30 mins to make and cost nought. I keep it in the boot.
I think the important thing is that the DIY block has to be deep enough so as to not put the weight of the car on the edges of the plastic jacking points as they will crush.
