There is no room anywhere else in these doors, except when you have some very small crossovers. Most quality crossovers are pretty beefy. Mounting them in the trunk is a good option, but of course it requires more labor, and you need to be careful not introducing unwanted noise. Passive crossover networks easily pick-up noise and the trunk is a very "noisy" area. Also, the tweeter speaker wire needs to be run away from power cables, otherwise they can also pick-up noise. Ironically, one of the most noise-free area of the car is probably the doors, so you may have to live with one evil to eliminate the other!
