I am not a fanboy of Gavin, but I have no issues with his current approach: which seems to be shut up and try to get the job done.
AA has dropped abunch of hints, but have the experience to keep their mouths shut. Gavin was just a bit too enthusiastic for a bit too long early on in the process, and everyone got frustrated.
