Am getting itchy feet again!
This thread is a little tongue in cheek as funds don't really permit me to buy, but
IF I (you) were to go down the Pork route, what would you go for out of this lot......
.................... I have hankered after one for a while, I drove a Boxster S last September, and keep looking at prices and various models, but daft as it sounds, I am uncertain which model I would go for (if on a modest budget) between Boxster S, Cayman/S, 996/997. I know heart says 996, but head is saying newer model 987 Boxster S or Cayman. I have only just realised that 997s have just about crept into the top end of what I would call an 'affordable' budget but that would be Carrera 2 and probably highish miles.
These three caught my eye:
This is the cheapest 997 Carrera at an OPC - 50K miles and 5 owners - this is an early car so could it have been a thrashed press car? The dealer is keen to sell (apparantly
), it comes with two years OPC warranty but I am would be put off by the high miles and number of owners. Spec is spot on though.

I love this 996, the colour is a favourite. The 996 C4S Cab is a classic and this is a late car with good spec and with the hard top. A Cab would be my preference. It's got the important sports exhaust. Lack of a decent warranty would be a worry.

If I went down the Boxster S route, this one is spot on for spec (inc Hardtop) and has the two year warranty for piece of mind. Not a 911, but would still cut the mustard!

Can I dare to ask what the assembled panel of experts think? early 997, late 996 C4S, decent spec Boxster S or Cayman S?
When you have answered I will go and see the bank manager
