I changed my oil at 1,200 miles. The SA asked why so soon, she just didn't understand. The oil was super dirty. I'm at 6,000 miles now and already itching to change it again even though I'm trying to hold until 7,500 (half of the recommended 15k).
Drives a lot smoother as well, like stated.
