One would venture a guess that BMW has tuned the car for a flat torque curve, and thereby cut power at many points in the rev range. I think anyone that tunes the engine is going to narrow the peak in serach of more power. A simple flash or piggyback isn't going to be able to keep the flat curve and elevate it 80 hp. That would require top and bottom end work on the engine.
