In my case it was an annoying creak next to my right ear every time the car went over a bump or turned a corner, which seemed to come from the door seal. Some days it was quite loud and on other occasions hardly noticable.
I've owned 8 BMWs from coupes to saloons and this is the first time I've had the problem but it seems to be very common (a google for carbaflo bmw throws up a lot of discussion on the subject).
Like you I've always dried the doors with the same chamois or drying cloth. I've washed the car several times now since applying carbaflo using the same method and no problems, however my fingers will remain crossed for a few weeks yet!
