Not quite. In the case of the BMW, we recommend against them because we've seen then either leak or be sprung too tight. Both of which will add stress to the turbos, decreasing their life measurably.
This isn't to say that all bov/bypass vales are bad. I'm running Forge bypass valves on my car (with the softer spring) and they seem to work just fine.
Of course, so do the stock ones.
