Well I was somewhat reluctant to mod too because of warranty but couldn't resist. I've brought the car in a couple of times FBO for minor repairs/service with no issues. I just remove the tune and meth. With this being said I'll be in your boat next year when my warranty expires. I think I'm just going to trade it in on something with a warranty. I really want an auto or DCT so that's my major motivation but factory warranty also helps. If you could find a good deal on an extended warranty I wouldn't let mods stop you. If something serious breaks just pay to return it to stock if you have to. Still way cheaper than paying for the repair yourself. I personally won't own a BMW out of warranty.
