I don't think CPO covers it, just as it doesn't cover if your power steering pulling hits the subframe and causes $3,700 worth of damage, but let's be reasonable, should the OP had put the car on a lift when he bought it, to be sure the nuts weren't over-torqued to begin with? Hopefully all of us will earn enough coyne to move on the Porsche. There are so many stories here of dealerships who do not extend any courtesy to clients.
