Maybe, but i doubt that it would affect that much especially between 8 and 8.5 wide wheels. Maybe if your rear wheel would be 9.5 or wider.

225= 22.5cm wide tyre

8 wheel actual width + 1inch overall width of the wheel= 22.5cm

So wheel and tyre have same width.

8.5 wheel actual width + 1inch overall width of the wheel=23.75cm

23.75cm-22.5cm= 1.25cm

1.25cm/2= 0.62cm

So 8.5 wheel is 6mm wider/side, than the tyre.
