I have decided to use my 162's with snow tires mounted as my yearly snow wheels. I will be getting new wheels in the spring time.

I don't see the point of have 3 sets of wheels, so off with my RF's and on with my Snow Tires.

I would say, most folks getting winter sets (wheel +tire) will not be upgrading their wheels (aftermarket-wise).

The 162's 18" are not the best in the Winter. They definately are doable, but your rear end slip a bit more due to the staggered setup. I have driven through 2 snow storms now. The first is up in Minneapolis (4-8 inches) and my e90 has been fine. I just drove through Madison's small snow storm this past weekend (2-4 inches) and still no problem.

My advice would be, get out of the snow as fast as possible, and hope that you don't have to travel along ways with snow tires mounted on 162's and you'll be safe!
