Ok, I promised I would post my former 2003 X5 4.4i's non-scheduled maintenance repair history (this was about an 18 month period)...

Drive Belts - $193
Alignment - $150
Transcooler and Transcooler lines - $561
Seat Mat / Air Bag sensor - Covered under CPO
Valve Cover Gaskets
Fuel Tank Breather Valve - CPO
Tank Venting Valve - CPO
Oil Separator - $525
Left Front VANOS seal - CPO
Coolant Galley gasket - CPO (involved removing the transmission)
Sealing Flange for Solenoid Valve - CPO
Rear signal light assembly replaced - CPO
Replace heat exchanger for auto tranny - CPO
Replaced front axle - CPO
Replaced Starter - $552

Scheduled Maintenance:
Tune up including tranny flush (100k miles), Iridium Spark plugs, FI cleaning, coolant, ignition cap, rotor, PCV Valve, etc - $1454
Brake pads & rotors front and rear - DIY for $500
4 new tires - $1100

We bought it in Jan. of 2009 which makes it about the same age (higher mileage) at the time of the purchase as the one you are looking at...
