I have been watching "cable" threads for awhile and I think you now hold the "least expensive and actually working cable" award! As mentioned above however, it could be largely due to luck - your cable may have just been next in line on the shelf of random cables and happened to be a working one, but who cares, right! Lucky you!
Will be interesting to see if others buy this cable with consistent results.
Question, for statistical curiosity: What colour is the component board inside the plug head housing? ie Green, White, or Blue?
