premium warrenty should cover those problems however you should give them a call to make sure.
And yes, you'd have to replace the whole column.. i am taking my car to the mechanics today to update my software and do some recoding and hopefully the steering lock error can be fixed without needing to replace the column.
that ebay link is pretty good actually, i got quoted from bmw for well over 1k...
