Here is the message I got from him. You tell me the story.
"The heatshield (not floor board) does need to be bent up and I apologize but the exhaust was never sold with the indication that it will fit. If you're having trouble lining up the flange I suggest loosening up the v-band's on the downpipes in order to allow the pipes to move into the flange.

Here is another post about the VRSF exhaust on XI models. This was an issue before I bought mine, to bad I din't find it before I sent VRSF my money.
