I think its simply a noise issue, rather than a functional issue. Note if your warranty is the insured or used car warranty, this is likely to be classed as wear and tear and won't be covered. A different story if you have your new car warranty valid. I had it done when my car was under the new car warranty. I can't see it being too expensive to get a local indy to do it.
