The ironic / irritating thing then - is even if you'd have secured your car - they seem to have lifted it ASSUMING they could later code a key. They'd at this point have gone to any length to get the car operational (as they are doing it I imagine in a lockup or underground carpark rather than on your driveway).

I doubt moving the ODB port would have done much to help.. And BMW's "security fix" obviously would have done nothing.

Just one of those things mate. Could have happened to any car / any body..
