I have a 2009 e90 with no premium package, so my rear view mirror had nothing. I ordered a mirror (homelink, autodim, compass) off of
www.car-part.com (got a great deal, was much less than ebay) and the retrofit wire (61120434330) from Evan @ tischer.
The instructions from this DIY and the referenced BMW pdf were greaet. The hardest part for me was removing the FZD. I used the technique referenced on this Bluetooth DIY to remove the FZD
