Horsepower wars are over - its about power WITH lightness. People who want to 'stick to the roots' of NA engines v10-v12 are going to be left behind.

You now know why the elder generation says 'nothing great was built after 1969' or whatever. That was their golden age and they continue to live in it. So should those of you that are resistant to the future... go buy an old 8 series/m1/e30 and restore it, that sounds awesome. But let the future happen.

The idea of this car is power+efficiency. Thats the whole mantra. And THAT is harder to do and proves BMWs chops as an engineering company. Doing the same thing as others or doing the same thing they did in the past isn't what we want from BMW. Promise.

That said IMHO this car should be called the 8-series
