I'd guess that there is logic in the ECU that basically decides that the constant differential between front and rear tyre speeds cannot be true and that a sensor has failed. When you are back driving normally it sees that everything is actually ok and resets.
The same sort of behaviour is seen when a car is on a dyno. I have also managed to trip the tyre pressure monitor with excessive exuberance whilst exiting a junction (loan car - which is always faster than yours
