Strange anomaly. Happen to you?

I don't have comfort access. I used the fob to unlock the door as usual. I inserted the fob in the ignition. When I stepped on the brake preparing to press START, it felt like there was positive resistance from the brake pedal. It wouldn't depress at all, was very firm. When I pressed START, nothing happened. Silence. The dash lights and parking lights came on when I insterted the key, but it wouldn't start.
I took the fob out, locked and unlocked the doors, and everything worked normally. Brake pedal depressed, and the engine started. No warning lights or anything, and it hasn't happened again all day.
Has this happened to you? I'm very curious why the brake pedal would feel like that.
