Ya know what would be cool: to have a throttle plate that shuts off the hose to the cone filter, and attach that throttle to an actuator controlled by the pressure in the diverter valve hose. You could probably modify an actuator from a junkyard heater mixing valve to do this, or could do it electrically with a pressure switch and a solenoid. Then, you put the OEM paper filter in the stock airbox. When cruising, you get the quietness and filtration abilities of a stock car. Step on it, and you get the cone filter.
It'd be even cooler to modify the exhaust flap into a muffeler bypass valve that's actuated the same way. You'd go from a quiet stock cruiser to an open intake and exhaust just by flooring it.
