This question might have been answered already in the forum, so please apologize if so, but I searched and could not come with it, or at least not for my model/year...
Last year I bought a 2011 BMW 328i xDrive, and this month (10 months after), the navigation system indicated that Engine Oil level was at its minimum. Worried, I contacted the dealer, who simply mentioned that they could add a quarter of 5W30 (which I had to pay for) and it should be all set.
Now, I've never had to do anything like that with any other car in my lifetime; obviously old cars burn oil and that's acceptable, but mine is only 11K miles!!! and I'm not a crazy driver!
Has anyone experienced a similar problem? is this acceptable? would you think that there's something wrong with my car? any insights are really appreciated, since the more I think about it, the more uncomfortable I get
