just some opinions i've found:

You simply connot stagger the tires as on an AWD you need to keep in mind that the car then would be dealing with slightly different overall diameters:

225/45-17 25.0"
245/40-17R 24.7"

Which in doing so will be creating a very real likelihood of transfer case damage due to turnig the wheels at different revolutions per mile, and the dealer will most definitley not cover your transfer case rebuild at 18k miles because of the fact you changed the wheels & caused the problem.
