Could be your original battery is fading. Lots of weird gremlins come out when the battery becomes marginal.
There are batteries in each of the key fobs. I replace mint last year (I have a 2007). That would be a cheap way to see if it fixes the remote issue. The ones I put in mine were Energizer CR2032. I have comfort access. There are multiple threads out there on how to open up the remote and get to the battery.
