If that does not work. There's always the easiest which is to retrofit another CIC Headunit. Add a emulator and you all is well.
If you don't like the idea of having an emulator then you also have a further option to virginize the retrofitted unit and have it programmed to your car like it came off the factory floor. Pricey? Yes! SSD mod is still do able after this too!
Last option. Walk into your fav stealership, bring lube and condoms.
