You bash the active steering option quite a bit...? I have found the difference in drive-ability between my e90 2008 335 without active steering and my 2010 335 with active steering to be quite significant (granted my 2010 is tuned which adds to the enjoyment). Coming out of a sharp turn with the feature allows you to quickly and easily use the paddle shifters to power out of the turn (with manual transmission of course this makes less sense). And of course, the faster you are driving the less significant the feature becomes, to a point of being unnecessary. However, although I have never tracked my car, I would imagine that even a single hairpin or tight turn on a track, the feature could shave off some valuable time.
