I would be astonished on two fronts if it was an error... One if the car is giving a code for something typically in most cases it is necessary. Secondly, having owned a handful of turbo charged cars, having good clean well performing plugs is a must and I replaced them all the time in my turbo S2000 and big turbo DSM. I would try another dealership if one is close by.
