I got a call from my $tealership a few weeks after taking delivery.
The sales person said she thought it was funny that as I was driving out I'd turned off DSC and smoked it out the driveway

Have done 2 oil changes (2,500km and 10,000km) and have had Proceed since 3,000km.
Have not burnt an ounce of oil.
Treated my Subie the same way, never a problem.
Just my 2c worth.
