Exactly! And they hold backing down my short driveway from my garage - I lurch my way into the street. My wife complained about my driving skills until she tried it and it happened to her as well. It's a good idea overly executed.
This is not a function of the hill hold/assist whatever you want to call it. if you are going in the direction of the slope this does not engage, it only works if you are backing up a hill to prevent rolling down or if you are driving up a hill to prevent rolling back. Do you have an auto? That maybe more of a transmission issue. I have a manual and do not experience this issue at all. Best of luck
