I think the BMW O2 simulator passes valid forward voltage readings back to the DME so the car will think the rear O2 sensors are functioning as expected and will pass readiness.
I wish they would make a PnP version that taps in-line with the rear sensors instead of the pinout harness at the DME. I don't want to pop open my cowl if I don't have to, especially while using a flash-based tune.
