Rather than doing it in stages, I would wait to do the whole thing as one unit (even if it means crappy sound for a longer time until you can do it right).

VP will tell you himself, going in stages won't give you what you're looking for - and it'll increase your costs (a package is less than parts).

What'll happen is that you'll go with the first stage (speakers, amp, or whatever), and it'll sound slightly better but still crappy. Then you'll think "I paid XXX dollars for this? And it still sounds like %&$#? I'll just stop here and cut my losses".

There are many good threads here listing what works. There are many reviews by various people from both coasts and in between. Read, learn, follow what works.

Otherwise, we'll see you back here soon with one of the threads: "I bought XYZ brand stuff, had it installed, and now it sounds like crap, steering wheel controls don't work, PDC gongs are crazy loud, and I have SOS errors..."

Learn from the experience of others, and then enjoy the tunes.
