La is definitely the fem version of el, both of which mean 'the.' In spanish, words ending in 'a' are considered to be fem, while words ending in 'o' are male. This comes from what I remember of my 8th grade spanish class, uh.. 17 years ago? lol, so I'm prlly wrong. I think it would actually be Las instead of Los. See: Los Lobos, El Nino/La nina (with tildes of course )

I still think El Chupacabras sounds cooler though lol
